3. 3-YEAR TERM LOANS AT ZERO% OR 2.5% INTEREST  

 

This method of giving is specific to the purchase of Lot 4 at 9025 Mainwaring Road, North Saanich, British Columbia, Canada. Lot 4 is 17.54 acres within the Agricultural Reserve (ALR) and is assessed at $1.045 million.

 

For a zero% interest loan, a lender in today’s market would forego a 2% annual interest income – on a $100,000 loan, that is equivalent to $ 2,000 in donation per year for 3 years.  Saanich Peninsula Abbeyfield  Housing Society is a charitable organization and will issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made in Canada (Charitable Tax # 85608-9255-RR0001).

 

For a 2.5% interest loan, Saanich Peninsula Abbeyfield will pay the interest annually for a 3-year period.  

 

The Loan will finance the land purchase in the interim and will be repaid from the sale of 3-half acre lots that would be sub-divided from the 17.54 acre parcel.
